HOW DOES IT WORK?

Teams had a choice, make a traditional one-shot film which allows just two presses of the record button (camera can move but just a single shot or start-stop) or they could create a film using only one angle but as many shots/scenes as you need.

Films had to be 1-4 minutes long including credits and also incorporate the Official Guidelines (listed below). Thank you to the 50+ filmmakers who attended our kick-off party! Check out our social media pages to see some photos of the event.

GUIDELINES
  • Theme: a Memorable Moment
  • Prop: a Photograph (any kind of photo where a character takes or shows a photograph)
  • Line of Dialogue: "Things like this take time."

  • RULES
  • Films must be 1-4 minutes long (including credits).
  • Traditional one-shot films can only have two presses of the record button, so start-stop.
  • One-angle films must choose a single location/angle to place camera but can have as many shots/scenes as needed.
  • All footage must be shot within the 72 hour time period (locations can be scouted beforehand, animators are allowed to pre-sketch templates/characters).
  • Filmmakers should secure permission for all locations and any music/songs used within their films.
  • Adult content such as language, violence and sexual situations is allowed, however, make sure it fits your storyline and enhances your film.
  • Cast and crew must promise to have fun and become Almost Famous!
