Our Mission
The charitable purpose of A3F Incorporated is to benefit the independent filmmaking community in the state of Arizona through film challenges, international festivals, educational workshops, scholarships and a public media center. A3F Incorporated provides these
charitable activities through its newly formed non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
A3F Incorporated hosts its public film challenges, festivals and workshops through the Almost Famous Film Festival. Founded in 2005, the
Almost Famous Film Festival has built a solid foundation in Arizona as a leader in the independent film festival circuit.
Scholarships
A3F Incorporated is introducing a
scholarship program to be awarded to promising film and creative writing students at Phoenix College, Scottsdale Community College and Arizona State University. A total of three
$1000 scholarships will be made available beginning in January 2010.
If you are an eligible student, download the
scholarship application or
email for more information.
Media Center
A3F Incorporated plans to develop a public-accessible media center in 2010 for filmmakers to use in developing scripts, films and other media-related projects. The
media center will consist of computer editing bays, literature, handbooks and manuals, community references, and other resources that will aid filmmakers without the means to acquire these fundamental necessities for creating films.
Looking Forward
A3F Incorporated will continue to support the successful foundation established by the Almost Famous Film Festival and its direction and course of hosting events for
independent filmmakers. As a tax-exempt non-profit, A3F Incorporated will substantially increase its ability to provide assistance, sponsorship and funding for these community outreach programs and events that directly benefit the participants.
Donations from local and state businesses, individuals and grants will generate revenue that will go directly back into the festival which will greatly enhance the benefits for the filmmakers and people participating in our sponsored events. One hundred percent of all monies received will be
invested into the festival for our initial fiscal year.
We are dedicated to always putting the filmmakers first!
