2005 Recap

2005 marked the
inaugural year of the A3F. Not sure what to expect, founder and director, Jae Staats, took a leap of faith and hit the pavement, schools, businesses, web sites and anyone he could catch ... to tell them about this new 48 Hour Short Film Challenge that would make filmmakers,
Almost Famous!
Fortunately, it worked! 28 teams of talented filmmakers, video hobbyists and seasoned pros signed up to make a film
in just 2 days. The results were inspiring ... comedies, dramas and mockumentaries -- all made in just 48 hours!
Everyone's hard work and dedication was rewarded with a Hollywood-style public screening at a revamped Ice House in downtown Phoenix. 245 people arrived to the music of SubJazz, the smell of fresh Kettle Corn and the ambiance of a true
independent film festival. The evening concluded after 22 films made their official debuts and prizes and awards were given out to the winning teams.
